On her Majesty’s secret service
Manly, aloof and a just little bit maverick, this is the sort of bachelor pad that Bond himself might swagger into. In fact, if you like action, this top-floor apartment is right in the middle of it. There’s a debonair elegance to its interiors, all smooth greys and whites, while Muhammad Ali and Superman gaze from the walls. Slide open the glass doors for a roof terrace martini, shaken not stirred, or stride into town. Whether it’s Clerkenwell’s awesome restaurants, or the glamour of the West End, you’ll be there in the time it takes to shrug on a stiff shirt and dinner jacket.
GoldenEye
Your host is a young bachelor who loves films and football. Self-employed, his work takes him between London and New York.
For your eyes only
This suave, masculine home is in the heart of town. But, once you’ve strolled along this City lane and up to your fifth floor apartment, you wouldn’t know it. All manner of cool posters line the hallway, while the sitting room is open plan and awesomely bright. A combo of bare bricks, white walls and wooden grey flooring, it’s effortlessly cool. Cuddle up on the corner sofa, or pull up a chair at your dining table. Skylit and seriously modern, you’ve everything you need in the kitchen to cook up something splendid.
Plates can be carried onto the spacious roof terrace. And, in case anyone’s still hungry, a state of the art barbecue should ensure satisfaction. There’s a stylish, pared back study and a bathroom full of our White Company goodies. The double bedroom has a deliciously deep rug, while the master offers modern artwork, a widescreen TV and loads of daylight. Best of all, both bedrooms have luscious ensuites.
The world is not enough
You’re close enough to hear the pealing bells of St Paul’s, which means you’re also moments from swanky One New Change shopping centre. The Barbican is a one stop shop of culture, while Clerkenwell may be London’s most mouthwatering quarter, with restaurants like the Michelin-starred St John. You’re close enough to walk to Oxford Street, or, jump on the tube at St Paul’s and be there in six minutes.
