Villa Pisana is a cozy and comfortable holiday home sitting on a one hundred and fifty acre estate with a private park in Tuscany. Minutes from Lucca and Pisa and a short drive from Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi, the cottage is part of an aristocratic estate in an area noted for a number of elegant summer residences formerly frequented by nobility. The cottage is surrounded by the soft, rolling hills of Tuscany replete with olive groves and vineyards where high quality wines are produced. The area encompasses many beautiful and historic medieval hamlets and villages including, of course, Lucca with its art, culture, Renaissance walls and labyrinthine, medieval streets. The area is also just within a 30 minute trip to the Northern Tuscan Rivera with the upscale sea resorts at Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi. Villa Pisana is surrounded by beautiful walled gardens full of brightly coloured flowering plants and indigenous trees, herbs and shrubs. Lush irrigated lawns with strategically placed garden beds and paths spread out from the cottage. A twelve and a half by six and a half meter pool surrounded by a brick terrace with plenty of sun loungers is close to the house and adjacent to a rustic, shaded sitting area for cards, chess or luncheons. Closer to the house is a large dining terrace with seating for up to twelve and a stone, wood-burning barbecue. Both the interior and the exterior of the cottage were restored and brought up to date in 2012. The interior is full of warm, bright colors with predominantly yellow walls, tiled floors and white-washed, rough-hewn beamed ceilings. The living room features several conversational areas with comfortable simple furniture and a fireplace. A second multi-purpose sitting area?study with a TV has a brightly striped couch and orange?ochre patterned armchairs. A separate formal dining room is just off the kitchen with attractive, contemporary seating and a white-washed beam ceiling. The kitchen is welcoming, with professional grade appliances and an eat-in table seating six. There are six bedrooms in Villa Pisana. Villa Pisano is secluded and private while still in close proximity to all the culture, history and incredible restaurants of central and northern Tuscany. It?s a great vacation spot for a large family or a group of friends and an ideal location for exploring Tuscany.
