My wife and I stayed here for our 5 year anniversary. When we first arrived at the cabin, we were amazed by the view. Words can't describe it. The cabin was small and cozy (exactly what we wanted), but it is large enough for a family of 4 I would think. The owner was currently in the process of remodeling the cabin, which at first we were a little concerned about staying in a construction project. However, they made sure that it was clean and ready for our week long vacation. You could still see things that they were in the process of doing, but it in no way affected our stay. I would love to see it once they get it finished...but one word of advice for the owner, keep the charm of the cabin and don't modernize it too much. Also, the deck does need a little TLC. I'm sure that's on your list. It really is a beautiful cabin. We were lucky enough to experience our first blizzard there (14 inches) and was snowed in for 2 days...but with the new hot tub and the fireplace, we didn't mind too much. Plus our dogs enjoyed their first snow. However, after 2 days we were ready to get out and see the town. The plow guy was so backed up with work, so I shoveled the driveway...not my best highlight of the trip but I didn't mind. The owners had everything there that we needed, plus a few extras in the pantry which was nice. Jeff, the owner, stopped by on our first day there to drop off some spices that they had taken out during the installation of the new cabinets. He was very nice and gave us a few ideas of what to do in the area. As far as things to do nearby, Cripple Creek has a few attractions but the casinos are the real attraction there (if you're into gambling.) I would recommend Bronco Billy's. In the nearby town of Divide, there is a brewery called Paradox. They have an interesting variety of sour beers, meats, and cheeses. Woodland Park also has some nice shops and more mainstream stores if you need anything that the local store in Cripple Creek doesn't have. BUT...sitting on the deck watching the sunrise over the snow capped mountains with a cup of coffee...that was our favorite part of the trip. My wife didn't want to leave. To sum it up, we really enjoyed our trip and would recommend this cabin for a nice romantic and relaxing getaway. Hopefully, we can make it back there for our next Colorado vacation.
I would definitely recommend this place for vacation! Hot tub is amazing especially when there is a little snow on the ground! Fire place is perfect for colder evenings and the views are amazing from every angle of the cabin!
We loved visiting this quiet location and relaxing in the hot tub looking out over stunning views. Oh and did I mention the silence?!?
The cabin was excellent and the view was unbeatable. I can't recommend it enough. Jeff was a pleasure to work with, and we will definitely visit again!
The cabin had everything needed for a short getaway! Plenty of cooking utensils and other items needed to ensure that once I arrived there was no reason for me to have to leave! Beautiful views!
