• There are beach towels in the condo for your use along with bath towels.
• The kitchen is stocked with utensils, pots, pans and most things you need for cooking. There is a microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer and stove/oven.
Interaction with guests
We have Host Free Check-in, meaning that there is not an office to check-in and no key to pick-up. We provide you with a personal access code to electronic door lock. The door code changes at 3:00 PM the day you arrive and will change automatically at 11:00 AM the day of your departure. Please keep your code in a safe place.
We live in Washington State and have an on-island manager to handle any issues that may arise. Phone numbers for our manager, cleaning company and us are located in the condo.
The access codes for the WiFi can be found in your Welcome Packet, and on Airbnb after you've booked.

Other things to note
★★★★ Construction Up date.... Waiting on Permits. The earliest possible start date is the last week of April... Start dates are likely to push out to first two weeks of May. ★★★★
There is a beach replenishment construction project scheduled for April/May of 2018 at the South end of the condominium complex. There is no work being done on the buildings. The work will be done on our Sea Wall. We anticipate that construction will occur weekdays during normal work hours (Monday through Friday 8-5) and should not interfere with anything at our condo unit although there may be noise during the day. We have deeply discounted the prices on our calendar to reflect this issue for the entire months of April/May - our normal high season rates are $269 per night. No pets & No smoking. ( No Vaping, No Bongs, No E-Cigarettes, No Marijuana Smoking) Your security deposit will be forfeited if either of these rules are violated.
There is a cleaning fee for each stay. We believe in paying a living wage to the maids that clean our condo. Hawaii is an expensive place to live and raise a family. We hope that you understand why our rates are what they are.
We do have good news! The Hawaii State Tax of 14.42% is included in our rate. Most places will charge this on top of your room rate. This likely more than offsets the cleaning fee in most cases when comparing our condo to others.

We use Trinity Maid Company for our cleaning service. They are excellent at what they do. The cleaning fee for each stay which is included in your total from Airbnb. We offer a discount off the daily rate for weekly (7-night) and monthly for reservations of 28 nights, or longer.
★★There is no air conditioning in ANY of the condos in our building. It is really not necessary in this area of the island. We are fortunate to be in an area that gets the tradewinds VERY reliably which keeps the condo at a nice temperature - usually 70-74 degrees. We bought this condo because of the area knowing that the west Maui trades blow through here.
However, there are times when the wind doesn't blow. It's rare but does happen. It's tropical here and a bit different than what you're probably used to. The temperature averages between 70-82 F during the day. It is pleasant but not stifling humid heat! We have personally experienced about 3-5 "uncomfortable" days in the five years we've been in the area so we don't want to tell you it can't happen.★★
Sandy Beach Entry: The beach can be directly accessed by using the stairway to the far north/right side of property facing the beach. You will walk down the stairs and and land on narrow sandy and a little rocky beach. Walk for about 25 yard (22.5 meters) and the beach will widen out. There is plenty of beach for you to lay out on. There some nice shady areas too. The sand is very soft here. I like that sand squeaks between your toes when you walk.

Note: All beaches and shoreline in Hawaii are public property. Shoreline public access is an important common law right that is shared by local residents and visitors alike. The right of access to Hawaii’s shorelines includes the right of transit along the shoreline and within beach transit corridors. Beach transit corridors are defined as the areas extending seaward of the shoreline and these areas are considered public property.
There is a strict "no hanging any clothing or towels over the lanai railing rule" at Kahana Reef. Please hang clothing or towels on the hooks provided on the Lanai "OUT OF VIEW" or in the bathroom. The owners will be fined for not observing this rule. This fine will be passed onto the visitor if they are found in violation of this policy.
HOLD HARMLESS
It is Tenant's responsibility to immediately notify Owners of the Annie's Surf Shack of any issues that they incur during their stay so that they may be promptly addressed. Owners of Annie's Surf Shack shall not be held liable, or otherwise take any responsibility, for any injuries that may occur to Tenant, and/or Tenant's invitee, that is caused or permitted to be caused by the intentional, unintentional, negligent, or careless acts of said Tenants, and/or invitees to the Annie's Surf Shack, the property and/or the possessions on the property including all structures and equipment. By the written or electronic endorsement of this Agreement, Tenant agrees to forever hold harmless and indemnify Owners of Annie's Surf Shack from any liability and/or responsibility arising therefrom.

This condo could not have been more perfect for our stay in Maui! There is nothing better than sitting on a lanai on a picture perfect day sipping the world's best coffee (Kona, of course!) watching the whales breach in the waters below us with the mountains of distant islands in the background! Mark was just wonderful to deal with and the accommodations were exactly as we saw pictured on the website. Highly recommend !
