Thirsty? Wet your whistle at the Craft Brewery “Barkeater” in downtown Lowville or the Tug Hill Winery in W. Lowville.
Horse People: Horse trails are minutes away and provide free hay for your horses. Bring your horses and spend your days riding. A couple of restaurants are accessible to the horse trails.
Boaters: There are multiple reservoirs and Rivers in the area. Boaters can launch their boats, kayaks, and canoes into the Black River ten min away at Verdicts Landing. Brantingham Lake is a 327 acre lake in the Adirondack Park only 20 min away.
Recreation: Open golf course, hiking, biking, boating, and fishing are available in the park. Ride ATVs on NY State maintained trails. Observe wildlife while hiking in the Tug Hill region.
Tour the North Country: (less than 90 min away)
Spend a day in Old Forge. A beautiful scenic drive along Moose river, 45 min away. Children will love the Enchanted Forest Water Safari, New York's largest water theme park. It has 50 rides and attractions, including 32 water slides. Adults will enjoy browsing the unique village shops, restaurants and bars, and 5 lakes. Go horseback riding, or rent a bike, a boat, canoe, or kayak.
Take a boat tour of the Thousand Islands on the Saint Lawrence River that separates the US and Canadian. The Islands stretch for about 50 miles downstream from Kingston, Ontario. The Canadian islands are in the province of Ontario and the U.S. islands in the state of New York.
Visit Canada for a day: Drive over the Thousand Islands Bridge or put your car on a ferry at Cape Vinson, NY which will take you to Wolf Island, then board a larger ferry that goes on to Kingston, Ontario. Just bring your passport.
