The Cabin is a charming spot for a respite from the 'civilized' world.
Two bedrooms each with a queen bed. Queen sleeper sofa in the main room.
Soak in the claw foot tub.
Sit on the deck and see miles and miles of the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains.
Marvel at the number of stars and fireflies you can see at night.
Spend your days relaxing and letting your dog run on the 21 acres, or mosey down the mountain for the many many nearby activities. There will be something for everyone.
Spend your evenings snuggled inside by a fire in the fireplace built from stone gathered on the property or gather around the outdoor firepit to roast marshmallows, make smores, and tell ghost stories.
The Cabin was built in 1963. We have updated it just a bit for comfort but we treasure the place so we believe we have maintained its charm. Read the reviews...many who have stayed here agree; we think you will, too.
In keeping with the peaceful setting of The Cabin and the surrounding acreage, the discharging of any firearms is strictly forbidden on the property. We appreciate your cooperation.

We drove up the private road and fell in love with the cabin at first sight. The location was superb, with a breathtaking view over a valley towards Grandfather mountain. We parked the car and went into cabin to find everything neat as a pin, tastefully decorated and everything one might need for a week’s vacation. The great stone fireplace, knotty pine paneling, exposed natural beams, claw foot bathtub, and comfortable furnishings, all added to our dream week vacation. We ate most of our breakfasts on the front deck that looked out over the valley. We discovered several wonderful hikes right around the cabin along the ridge of the mountain. The towns of Newland, Linville, Banner Elk, Grandfather Mountain, and Blowing Rock are within easy driving distance, yet the private mountain road leading to the cabin gave us a great sense of isolation. Don’t miss Old Hampton Store. Check with the owner for dates of live music, and festivals. We enjoyed hours of eating, dancing and listening to live music while we were there.
The views are breathtaking and constantly changing as the clouds come and go. The sun rises off to the left of the deck so although not a direct view, the sky is breathtaking in the mornings. You could easily spend all day outside on the spacious deck or by the firepit as you enjoy the view. The cabin itself is welcoming and cozy. It is ideally located close to the parkway, multiple trails, and a close drive to other small towns. We cannot wait to go back. Peg was a great to work with!
