Entire cottage is done in tongue and groove pine. Pinecone and pine tree theme throughout, with wood-burning stove in living room. Jacuzzi tub and skylight in master bath. Cable TV in 3 rooms with combo dvd/vcr. Growing collection of videos, DVD's, puzzles, and games. Master bedroom contains two queen sized log beds. Large upstairs loft/bedroom contains two queen sized log beds. We do not allow more than 6 people as the water supply is from a well and can serve this size group.The property is frequented by white tailed deer, mule deer, elk, hummingbirds, and coyote on a daily basis. We occasionally see bobcats and other wildlife. 5 Minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park, 5 Minute drive to the Estes Park downtown and 1 minute drive to quiet Mary's Lake Recreation and Picnic area or a 10 minute walk.

Q. What are the new rules for Estes Park Rentals
A. Estes Park is becoming strict in their rental rules for vacation rentals. Guests are required to list all members who rent the cabin. Please do so in the comments or notes section when booking. The number of guests are limited to SIX (6) and parking to one (1) vehicle.

Q. What are the strict house rules for this rental.
A. Loose garbage is fined. You need to put garbage in large 2 black garbage bags at the end of the rental. These are Estes park waste management rules and not ours. They will fine us and we will transfer the fine to your security deposit.
We as property owners take great pride in keeping the cabin clean for our current and future guests. We do not charge ANY nor excessive cleaning fees as most rentals do. This keeps our rental rates low and competitive for our guests. There is a leave as you found it policy except for Linens. You will be charged a $120 fine plus $30/hr for any cleaning that is in excess of 3hr cleaning. If you are not prepared to clean the home after you leave during your vacation, please find alternate accommodations. Guests can enjoy within property lot lines. There is no trespassing in neighboring lots. Quiet time is after 9 pm.
Q. When is check-in and Check-out?
A. Check-in is 3:00pm. Checkout is 10:00am. NO Early check-ins or late check-outs without prior permission.
Q. Do you allow pets or smoking?
A. Pets and smoking are NOT allowed. This is a non-smoking, no pets facility. IF YOU ARE A SMOKER or a would like to bring a PET please find alternate accommodations. If you SMOKE or BRING a PET, YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT and ALSO be charged additional damage.
Q. How close is the home to Rocky Mountain National Park(RMNP) and the town of Estes Park?
A. The home is approximately 2 miles away from RMNP entrance and 3 miles from the town of Estes Park.
Q. How will I get the keys?
A. We have a lock box with a key pad to the left of the door. There are typically 2 online payments. First half during booking and 2nd half 21 days before you arrive. A code will be provided to you upon final payment.
Q. Are linens and towels provided or do I need to bring my own?
A. No need to bring your own linens and towels. We will be providing fresh linens and towels at the beginning of your stay.
Q. Is there a stocked kitchen? How close is the nearest store or shopping center ?
A. Yes, the kitchen is fully stocked and we encourage you to cook your own meals unless, of course, cooking isn’t your ideal vacation activity. Our town also has many restaurants to choose from. The Country Market Store is down Marys Lake Road and less than a mile away
Q. Is there internet access and cable?
A. Yes, we have high speed wireless internet throughout our entire house. Each room is equipped with cable and flat screen TV's. DVD players are also provided.
Q. Is there daily housekeeping service?
A. There is NO daily housekeeping service. We keep our cabins very clean, and ask that you maintain them during your stay. We have a "leave it as you found it" cleaning policy. Guests may be charged an extra $120 if the cleaning takes more than 3 hrs to tidy after your stay.
Q. Is there air conditioning and washer -dryer? Is there a blow dryer and iron?
A. There is no air conditioning as it is very rarely needed. It becomes very cool at night and sleeping is always comfortable. Daytime is also comfortable as long as the blinds are down during peak sun into the cabin. There is a washer-dryer in the cabin. There is a blow dryer and iron in the cabinet under the bathroom sink.
Q. Is the cabin secluded?
A. The cabin is outside the husle and bustle of town, located on a small dirt road. It is spaced far from other cabins and homes, and though you can see them, we have almost two acres and you do not feel "close" to them.
Q. How is road access?
A. During summer 4 wheel or all wheel drive is not necessary. During snowy months it is as we are up a hill.
Q. What is the cabin elevation?
A. The cabin is no higher than estes park, which is at 7500 ft. One needs to be stay hydrated and get acclimatized before you go on long hikes up the Rocky Mountains.
Q. How many guests are allowed and how many vehicles are allowed?
A.Only 6 guests are allowed and two vehicles are allowed at vacation rental properties as per Estes Park Renting Law.
Q. What is your cancellation policy ?
A. A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty except for the PayPal and Credit Card transaction fees involved. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, or those that are made within 60 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. Credit card cancellations are subject to a 5% Cancellation fee or $50 whichever is greater. Paypal cancellations are subject to a 3% Cancellation fee or $50 whichever is greater.

Note that we use PayPal as our secure means of transaction but you DO NOT NEED A PayPal ACCOUNT to book using your credit card card of choice. We do not HOLD dates for the guests. Reservations are made ONLINE on the calendar by our guests on a first come, first reserved basis. You will choose the dates and book the vacation rental on the online calendar. Once you book and pay the first half online through the system, your dates will be reserved. Once completed, the system will send you an automated reminder through your email for the 2nd Half 21 days prior to your arrival. After your 2nd half payment has been made, we will send you directions and the code to the lock box. All reservations are made through secure means via your credit card through PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to pay through this method with your credit card.
Please use an EMAIL ADDRESS in our booking system that you frequently use. All correspondence will be sent through that EMAIL ADDRESS. Please ensure that the emails from us (namely ivacation online OR IVOL Admin) do not go to your spam folder.
2. The security deposit is refundable as per the terms and Conditions on the rental agreement. Important notes as per the Rental Agreement
1. This cabin accommodates SIX (6) guests. It is illegal to accommodate more than SIX (6) guests. Renters are not allowed to exceed the number of guests as per Estes Park Rental Authority.
2. PARKING – Parking is limited to ONE (1) vehicle. The Vehicle is to be parked in the designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted.
3. This cabin is an owner operated cabin business. We, the owners, clean the cabin for guests and ensure guests get the best rental experience at an economical rate. There is no extra cleaning fee typically charged by rental companies. However, there is "a leave as you found it condition policy" for the cabin except for linens.
(a) If it takes more than 3 hours to clean, you will be charged an extra fee of $120 that will be taken out of your security deposit.
(b) No damage is done to cabin or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
(c) No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.
(d) The cabin is located where bears seek garbage for food. All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in refuse containers outside, with a maximum of 3 large black garbage bags per rentals of a week or less. The maximum of 3 bags and "no loose garbage in garbage container" policy is enforced by Estes Park Waste Management and not us.

Owners made it very easy to book this very charming cottage. We had everything that we needed and enjoyed our stay.
Rustic, but very comfortably equipped and very clean, this cabin is a great location--a couple of minutes away from town and about a mile to the National Park entrance. The views from the deck are spectacular; we spent many late afternoons and evenings just watching the sun over the mountains. Great hiking nearby and convenient to all amenities, but you can enjoy the solitude and neighboring wildlife. An elk turned up almost every day and a pack of coyotes one night.
This was perfect for our vacation! Great cabin with everything we needed. Great views and great location for everything we wanted to do. We saw elk and deer on the property several times in the week we were there. Kids loved exploring the property too-very different from home! RMNP was spectacular, hiked everyday. Was great to come back to the Pinecone Cottage to rest each night. Thank you!!
