Overlooking lush pastures and rolling hills, this farmhouse sits peacefully at the end of a gravel lane. With 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a large eat-in kitchen, cozy family room and fabulously large outdoor deck, this is the perfect retreat to get away from it all.
The farmhouse sleeps 6 in three bedrooms with a queen bedroom downstairs with en-suite (shower) bathroom, and 2 spacious rooms upstairs, each with a full size bed. There is another full bathroom downstairs complete with a washer/dryer.
The large kitchen is equipped with stove/oven, refrigerator, coffee pot as well as dishes, silverware and basic pots and pans. With a large table that easily seats 6 or more, it is the perfect place for families and friends to gather. There is a gas BBQ on the small deck off of the kitchen for guests to use.
The cozy living room has cable TV and WiFi so that you can stay connected.
The farmhouse is up a gravel road, all wheel drive may be recommended in inclement weather. The farmhouse is surrounded by pastures and woods and is part of a working cattle farm. Dogs are only allowed if approved prior to booking and must be kept on a leash at all times.
15 minutes from Blue Ridge Parkway, 10 minutes to West Jefferson and Mt. Jefferson, 8 minutes to New River Wilderness Area. A senic 18 miles from Grayson Highlands State Park and Mount Rogers, and only 4 miles to the Kings Creek Access on the New River with great canoeing, kayaking and tubing! The Farmhouse is only 30 min. from Boone, NC. and 45 min. from Blowing Rock, NC.
Area recreation opportunities include fishing, hiking, biking, golfing, horseback riding, canoeing, and tubing all minutes away. Attractions near the farmhouse include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Mount Jefferson State Park, Grayson Highlands State Park, Mount Rogers, Doughton Park, New River State Park, the quaint downtown of West Jefferson. Drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, enjoying the many scenic vistas that characterize America’s most beautiful road, stop and hike the many trails along the gorgeous parkway. Sample the local goods and harvests at the Ashe County Farmers Market and explore the many Art Galleries and shops in Downtown West Jefferson. Visit Grandfather Mountain and walk the Swinging Bridge, explore the natural animal habitat. Fish, canoe, kayak or tube the New River or bicycling on the flat, scenic road that runs next to it. Another highly recommended activity is to rent bikes and go down the Virginia Creeper Trail, only 20 miles from the Farmhouse, this scenic bike ride along a river is sure to please everyone in your group. Try your hand at a round of golf at Mountain Aire in Jefferson, we consider this one of the prettiest courses around! The Farmhouse is centrally located to all there is to see and do in Ashe County and the surrounding areas.
