The getaway features an 1,800 square-foot main cabin adjoining a 2,280-foot guest cabin, five bedrooms, five full baths and seven large limestone fireplaces grace every room. Linens and towels provided.
The house features carefully selected antique furniture, down-stuffed couches, a wrap-around porch , breezeway, and a screened porch. Six sleeping swings entice guests to rest outside with views over the 15,590-acre Savage Gulf natural area.
The main cabin features two bedrooms: The main floor bedroom has two single beds. The upstairs bedroom has two double beds. In the adjoining guest cabin, there are three bedrooms: The downstairs bedroom features one single bed. Upstairs is the master bedroom is upstairs with two single beds, a sitting porch and walk in closet. The second bedroom features two double beds.
Central heat and air is available throughout as are ceiling fans and windows that easily open to views from every room.
The kitchen in the main cabin opens to a great room with two large fireplaces. The second cabin features a small kitchenette with working appliances. Cable, wifi are available in the main cabin, with washer/dryer available in both cabins. A propane outdoor gas grill is available.
The grounds feature native landscaping, including mountain laurel, rhododendron and wild roses, created by a landscape architect with a love of the outdoors.
Nearby, explore miles of trails, natural wonders like waterfalls and limestone sinks, and take in the abundant wildflowers. You will enjoy summer weather that is usually 10 degrees cooler in the summertime than Chattanooga or Nashville. The cabin is situated a mile away from the Stone Door, a 100-foot deep geologic fissure that once served as a passageway for Native Americans. The nearby trailhead is accessible via a one-mile hike with a gorgeous waterfall. The Stone Door Ranger Station is nearby with ample maps and information.
Dozens of other nearby trails meander through old growth forest. Trout fishing is available in the Collins River. Numerous swimming holes, waterfalls and springs are within five miles of the cabin. The area has plentiful caves for exploring along with nearby crafts and bluegrass music. The historic Beersheba Springs Methodist Assembly, once home to a luxury hotel where guests watched Civil War battles from the porch, is less than a mile away. The annual Bonnaroo music festival is within easy driving distance.
