The Bailiwick House is a very spacious totally private rustic reliable beach house on 1.2 acres off Banks Rd in the most desirable location of Governor's Harbour/Eleuthera/ Bahamas. Directly across the road from the world renowned Tippys Restuarant / right next door to the famous Pineapple Fields Resort / Walk to Banks Rd Deli with daily mouth watering baked treats as well as many food favorites. Just next door to them is the famous Levy Preserve with over 40 acres of hiking trails and daily educational seminars on all the indigenous insects, birds, reptiles and any other living creatures on the island. 3 miles to downtown for groceries, liquor stores, gas, the famous Haines Library (oldest in the entire Bahamas) and of course the every Friday night FISH FRY where the roads are closed off for dancing in the streets to every kind of fun music, limbo contests and partying with many locals as well as visitors. Upstairs in the Bailiwick House is 2000 sq ft with 4 BR (3 with private baths) Two of these have California King beds (1 also has a twin bed) The other bedroom with private bath has a queen and the smallest bedroom has a standard double bed.
The living room with formal dining room area is an immense 30 feet by 20 feet.
There is also a kitchenette area that sits 6 with a 1/2 bath next to it. The kitchen is well stocked with all sizes of pots and pans if cooking is your pleasure. It includes stove, dish washer, microwave, toaster oven and George Forman grill.
EVERY room in the house has a ceiling fan and separate Mitsubishi split air conditioning units for total comfort.
The Bailiwick House has a full wall of over 100 classic books in the hallway library for those that enjoy reading while vacationing.
The house has a washer and dryer on the ground level with a 1/2 bath right next to them.
Cable TV as well as internet/WIFI and home phone for local calls is included.
There is a front deck 30 feet by 10 feet with distant views of the ocean over the tops of the trees. The upper back deck is a remarkable 200 feet by 6 feet going the full length of the house. Two of the bedrooms have doors opening up to this deck. However, the GEM of the Bailiwick House is the brand new lower back deck in front of the L-shaped in ground pool. It is a 30 feet by 30 feet totally private oasis that has the cocktail party mentality for entertaining as well as the serene quiet environment for those that prefer just that.
Downstairs has a private apartment that can be included with the upstairs rental for an additional fee of $75. per night or rented separately for a couple or single individual at $175. per night.. It has a California King bed, ceiling fan and air conditioning just like upstairs. It has a private bath area with shower and one of those deep cast iron bathtubs with legs that you remember from yesteryear.
The 1000 feet of driveway from Banks Road to the Bailiwick House assures you of total privacy. It cannot even be seen from the road.
The beaches of Eleuthera are legendary. The velvety pink sand created from the crushed coral are spoken about in numerous world travel magazines and documentaries. Be it Harbour Island, Spanish Wells, French Leave Beach, Ten Bay, Rainbow Bay, Cocodimama, Palmetto Point, Surfers Beach, Light House Beach, Cape Eleuthera, etc etc etc. But, be it known that right across the road from the Bailiwick House behind Tippy's Restuarant is a 3 mile stretch going north and south of some of the most magnificent beach area in the Bahamas, if not the world. That's OUR beach.
