This charming building was originally the first resort hotel in Venice; in the 40's it served as the home of the Kentucky Military Institute. It now houses 2 floors of quaint condos above the ground floor local shops and services. Residents can visit the beauty parlor, barber shop, enjoy a meal, have a massage, take a yoga class and shop for art, antiques or cruise wear without ever leaving the building. But the outside beckons as the beach, marinas and water sports are just blocks away.
The KMI building, as it is known to locals, faces Centennial Park in the heart of downtown Venice. An envious location as the park is often the location for the many festivals celebrated in Venice. Most Saturday mornings there is a farmers market in front of the building. The park has a delightful children's water fountain, a gazebo and even charging stations for electric cars. Also, within walking distance from the building are tennis courts, basketball courts, and of course the beach and marinas.
This particular unit has hardwood floors throughout and is meticulously maintained. It feels like stepping back in time as it is furnished with antiques and collectibles. There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom and two twin beds with a pull out trundle for a third in the second bedroom.
Amenities include a pool, elevator and a laundry on each floor.
