Thank you! ** Just one hour from New York City, this is a very charming and stylishly updated old house that is perfect for families. It is located in the country area of North Stamford, right on the border of Greenwich. It was built in 1869 (there is a hitching post out front), and then was updated twice recently with a sunroom with woodburning stove, large playroom stocked with toys, and a master suite and bath. It has 3,880 square feet. There are 4 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, 2 with tubs. The house can comfortably fit 8 people, and 8 is the maximum number of guests we allow. Please let us know how many people will be staying in the house when you book -- we ask that you not bring additional people unless you have discussed it with us. Thank you.

There is a large backyard. At the far end of the yard is a pond and stone patio. In the spring and summer there are frogs in the pond, and the occasional turtle.

The playroom is large, sunny, and stocked with toys that kids are welcome to play with.

Our outdoor swingset / playset accommodates small children - best for children 10 and under. Please no adult use. Thanks.

We always leave a binder in the house that is full of detailed info about the house, wireless access, garbage pickup, the area, shopping, activities, restaurants, recreation, etc. We are very easy to contact via text or phone with any questions at all you have during your stay -- no matter how small. Thanks!

The neighborhood is bucolic and rural. There's a horse farm nearby, down a winding road. The forested Mianus River Park, with its lovely hiking trails that run alongside the river, is a 3-minute drive from the house, great for jogging, hiking, mountain-biking or walking the dogs (or kids!). The house has easy access to the Merritt parkway (Route 15) so getting into NYC or to nearby Greenwich, CT is easy. Shopping on trendy Greenwich Ave. (Saks, Tiffany, J. Crew, etc.) is 15-20 minutes away. Stamford train station is about 15-20 minutes from the house, and has many trains running into New York's Grand Central station, a 1-hour train ride away.

Please do NOT put anything other than toilet paper in toilets - no feminine products or baby wipes, etc. or there may be plumbing problems. Thank you.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Full refund if cancelled before 60 days in advance of dates booked. If cancelled with less than 60 but over 30 days in advance of dates booked, 50% refund. If cancelled less than 30 days in advance of dates booked, NO refund. (I will try my best to refund you in full or part if I am able to rent out the dates that you originally booked to a another party.) Thanks!
