The Sea Unicorn, our spacious family home of 2000 sq ft, with its lovely balcony views, sits at the end of Ocean Boulevard on a half acre lot about 100 feet from the ocean on the west side of a cul-de-sac. Our Ocean Boulevard is only about a dozen or so lots long, cut off on the north end by the Myrtle Beach State Park, and on the south end by the Lake that comes from the park and flows in our back yard. The far south end of the lake flows into the ocean so the tidal brackish water, a mix of salt and fresh, supports a miriad of diverse life. You have to see this natural wonder to believe it.

The eighteen-hundred square feet of Non-Smoking, rental space on the lower level include three bedrooms with one king, two queen, 1 queen sofa-sleeper. You can bring single inflatable beds, more people is additional charge., . There's also a living/dining area about sixteen by thirty-five feet, a twelve foot by twenty-six foot fireplace room that can be closed off as another bedroom (air mattress), separate laundry room with beach toys and chairs, two full bathrooms, a third shower room, a half bathrm, and completely equipped Euro Cab kitchen. Wireless Internet access is provided.

The 2 east bedroom's, each with a glass block wall, and each with sliding glass doors, open up to the patio that faces the beach, and the fireplace room glass doors open to your private pool patio and the Lake in your huge back yard. +

All bedrooms have sliding glass doors, except one has single glass door.

The private 46 foot X 16 ft salt water pool features 4 pairs of built in seats, 2 with jets, and a kidney shaped spillover, a separate hot tub for relaxation in our beautiful back yard with fruit trees, Crepe Myrtles, and more. The 140 ft deep lawn stretches to our lake, and a rope swing hanging from the large oak tree that shades a picnic table Other extras include 2 row boats, paddle boat, grill, porch swings, kiddie slide, and a basketball net. It is like a little private park.

Pets are an extra $10/night plus an additional non-refundable deposit of $30. Owners must also provide proof of shots, and also proof of flea treatment. Pets are limited to the rec areas only (not allowed in bedrms), and not allowed on furniture.

You may bring your own linens, or we can provide you with linen service. Ask us about the check out cleaning service.

Long Bay Estates enjoys one of the widest beaches on the strand since we have no high rises for a couple of miles in either direction, and the State Park stretches for about one and a half miles along the coast. A walk up the beach takes you to the State Park Pier for fishing or ice cream, or walk a little further to Springmaid Pier for breakfast or lunch. If you prefer to walk only a few feet for fishing, you can surf fish on the beach or simply just walk in your own back yard to the Lake and fish for fresh and salt water crittters from the bank or from our private boats.

The Sea Unicorn is truly a unique family vacation of fun and privacy, yet still in the heart of the town, close to the excitement, There is no worry about who to call if there's a problem, since the owner lives upstairs on the north side of the property. Call soon, we book quickly.

Fabulous private pool with lake view

The house sits one block back from the ocean. A private access path is about 3 houses down, so the walk is very short and easy. Except in the heat of the day, shoes aren't needed for the walk unless you hate going barefoot. Other access paths are about every 3 houses. The house features a big fenced-in backyard with a pool large enough for swimming laps. Its deep end is 7 feet, which is a rare delight. Scattered around are 4 sets of 2 seaters, allowing you to sit in the pool and not just dangle your legs in the water from the pool side. Also unique is an underwater ledge in the deep section. The pool has a slide and an adjacent shallow "spillover" pool that would be perfect for little children as their private pool. A hot tub is also available. The rental property is for the first floor only although a private upstairs apartment may also be available (check with owner). The owner lives upstairs. You enter through a sliding glass door into the living/dining room. The living room portion has a couch, love seat, 2 chairs, coffee table, and big TV. Against the wall is another love seat. The dining portion has a large dining table. On the left side is the master bedroom with a king-size bed. On the right side are two bedrooms with a connecting bathroom. The kitchen is also on the right side and connects with the middle bedroom. Each bedroom has an A/C unit. Lots of windows, so plenty of light unless you close the blinds/curtains. A sliding glass door separates the living/dining room from the rec room, with its own TV, couch, round table, and foosball game machine. This glass door can be closed to keep noise down from those playing or watching TV in the rec room. On the right side of the rec room is a door leading to the laundry/storage area and another bathroom. The storage area features several boogie boards, games, and other beach-related items. We, including our dog, had a great time. However, if you need an ultra modern home with ocean views, this place isn't for you. It is an older home, and its upgrades over the years have created some unique quirks.

The perfect place to get away and enjoy fun in the sun

The pool and the backyard are fantastic. The twins age 7 had the best time in the pool they learned to dive and retrieve all the toys. The slide was voted number one. The tree swing was a close second. Seeing how far they can swing over the lake. Just a few steps across the street takes you right to the ocean, Very convenient. They love the paddle boat. Looking forward to next year when they learn to fish and boat around the small reed islands. Lots of wildlife everywhere.
