8 Acre Island Paradise Within 150 Acre Lake With Exclusive Private Cottage
AshKay Island is located on an inland lake that was flooded to create a sawmill in the late 1800s. The island has sat vacant except for the large hardwood forest that has developed all over the island. From this start we created a vacation resort starting with a new cottage built from the ground up for the exclusive purpose of creating a place for families to bring their children and create lasting memories.

I'm not sure what I could write on here that hasn't already been said. Everything was perfection. Andy - an amazing person that makes you feel like family from the start. The boat - Beautiful boat, runs great. My father has never drove a boat before and Andy was able to teach him how to handle everything, Dad was basically a pro by the end. The house - BEAUTIFUL. Had that wonderful wood smell as soon as you walked in. Very open and inviting and felt like we were outside. Beds were super comfy. Everything was sparkling clean. The Treehouse - My 2 boys loved this! They spend lots of time out there and I was comfortable with that happening because it was still close enough to the house I could hear if they needed me, but secluded enough they felt independent. Activities - SO MUCH TO DO! Canoe, kayak, boat, fish, corn hole, hammock, nature trail, fire pits. Great place to reconnect with family and friends.
We have been vacationing with another family - close friends of ours - for 20 years. Between both families we have seven kids/young adults between 18 and 24. I can honestly say that this is the first time everyone suggested on day-one that we should come back next year. And when polled on day-seven everyone still felt the same way. Andy is a great host and does anything needed to make sure that the accommodations exceed expectations. Beyond that the feeling of seclusion, the natural beauty, and the fact that you have your own island really pull you into a different world where you can completely forget about your day-to-day routine. I won't go into details about the amenities (boats, games, cable TV, etc.) but suffice it to say that there are plenty of things to do for everyone. If you are looking for the type of getaway where after a week you realize you didn't even bother to turn on the TV, this is worth considering. We'll definitely be back next year.
