INSIDE THE HOUSE

This cozy cottage is perfectly packaged for two. Fabric armchairs sit on either side of a gas fireplace, with Victorian decor lending historic charm. A breakfast table for two sits in the corner of the room, and a kitchenette completes the living space. There you’ll find a microwave, coffee maker, toaster and small fridge along with granite countertops but no stove or oven in this cottage.

In the bedroom, two side tables flank a canopied queen bed with views out to the rose gardens. The adjoining bathroom has marble tiling and a gorgeous clawfoot tub.

Victorian furnishings and 10-foot ceilings throughout may reflect the romance of days gone by, but don’t worry: the home has been remodeled to include high-speed Internet and a 36” Samsung TV with DirecTV for modern convenience.

OUR LOCATION

Set in the heart of Sonoma wine country, this rural idyll is surrounded by the rose gardens of Garden Valley Ranch.

But don’t let the solitude fool you - it’s only a 4-minute drive into Petaluma, where there are cafes, shops and restaurants to while away your day. Head to the Lagunitas Brewing Company for live music and snacks with your craft beer, or indulge yourself at the Petaluma Creamery where you’ll find handmade ice creams and cheese.

If that’s not enough, it’s well worth the 25-minute drive to the Marin French Cheese Company, where you can sample a range of delectable cheeses and pick the perfect pairing for your bottle of wine.

And of course this is wine country, so there are plenty of cellar doors to choose from within an easy drive. Pick out a bottle and head down to the coast, a pleasant 20-minute country drive - what could be nicer
