Ke O’hana Hale (The Family Cottage) is conveniently located on the Gulf side of the island, just a few steps from the water’s edge. We are certain this 1400+ SF, well-appointed and beautifully decorated cottage will become your family’s favorite vacation spot. Great care has gone into planning every detail for our guests from soft, comfortable linens to every imaginable cooking need for your home away from home.

The floor plan includes an open living/dining area with lots of seating, beautiful views of the water, and large windows letting in lots of natural light. The kitchen is well appointed with everything needed for cooking family meals and includes a microwave, coffee pot, toaster, hand mixer, blender, crock pot, convection oven, dishwasher, and all the flatware, glass, dish, serving dishes, and cookware needed. The center island is great for food prep and also offers seating for 8. A rectangular drop leaf table offers additional seating for 2. A full-size gas grill is available for cook-outs.

There are 2 master bedrooms, each furnished with a king bed and private bath with single vanity and shower. The northeast guest room (mermaid room) is furnished with a set of twin beds and the center north bedroom has a full/twin bunk bed. The third bath is located off the hallway and is a single vanity with tub/shower combo. All bedrooms are equipped with flat screen TVs and DVD Blue-Ray players for your enjoyment.

The oversized covered porch is perfect for relaxing, dining, reading, or just watching/listening to the waves. When dolphins are swimming close to shore, they can often can be seen from the porch.

Dauphin Island is known for its shell collecting, fishing, bike and walking trails, a wonderful bird sanctuary, Estuarium and Sea Lab, and historic Fort Gaines. Other attractions in the Mobile area include the USS Battleship Alabama, Bellingrath Gardens, and the historic antebellum homes. Or, you can take the ferry from Dauphin Island to over to Fort Morgan in Gulf Shores.

Summer Season: Reservations for the summer season are a minimum of 7 days and rental period is Saturday to Saturday. A reservation deposit of 1/3 the total rental fees is due at the time of booking unless other arrangements are agreed upon in writing. If reservation deposit is mailed, it must be received within 10 days of making reservation. The deposit may be made by check (mailed), credit card, or e-check using the VRBO web site. The balance of fees are due according to the schedule agreed upon at time of booking. Summer season rentals must be paid in full 60 days prior to arrival, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Payment of rental fees for stays of less than 7 days are due in full at time of booking, unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Check-in is 4:00 p.m. on day of arrival and check-out is 10:00 a.m. on day of departure.

We take great pride in offering a fresh, comfortable, attractive and well-equipped home for our guests. In that regard, occasionally, it may be necessary to substitute particular bed coverings and/or quilts from those pictured so the original linen article can be properly laundered. Anytime there is a substitution, it will be of equal or higher quality than those pictured.

When considering our cottage in your vacation plans, please carefully consider that, as pictured on VRBO, the cottage is furnished with a total of 6 beds. It will accommodate a maximum of 9 overnight guests. If you have questions concerning this restriction, please inquire before you book. Advance written approval is required to exceed this number of guests. An additional fee may apply.
