This spacious oceanfront home is located on lovely and unspoiled Holden Beach in southern North Carolina. New for the 2017 rental season is a private heated 12 ftX25ft pool on the ocean side of the property. The house has been recently updated with new paint and decorations in every room that are designed to complement the restful and carefree nature of a vacation at Holden Beach.

Loggerhead Landing is 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath beachfront house with a roomy, fully equipped kitchen/dining area for family meals and large groups. There is a spectacular newly updated living area adjacent to the kitchen-with both the kitchen and the living room featuring panoramic ocean views. The three upstairs bedrooms enjoy the same ocean vista and each opens out onto the upper covered porch. The upstairs bedrooms include a large master bedroom with a king bed and an adjoining bathroom, and two other bedrooms with queen beds one of which has an adjoining bathroom. In addition to the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the second floor, there is also a large upstairs living area with a TV and a table for playing cards or doing puzzles. Both large downstairs bedrooms have adjoining full baths. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, the other twins. They are both sizable and airy and have a view of the salt marsh across the road.

The house has two large covered porches on the ocean side. The porches are sprinkled with colorful comfortable rocking chairs to relax in. The pictures show the wide angle view of the beach and oceanscape from the porches. The house faces due south so that the porches provide shade during the heat of the day. In addition, there is a large open ground level porch that is wonderful for enjoying an al fresco breakfast or a beautiful sunset.

The beach is steps from the house so there is no tiring walk for young children before they get to enjoy the fine sand and the ocean waves. The beach itself is typically very uncrowded as the home is located on a narrow section of the island, and there is only one house behind it on the second row. The beach itself is wide, with plenty of room even at high tide.

This house was previously rented through VRBO as Parrothead Palace. It was also known as Island Paradise in the past. We have named it Loggerhead Landing in honor of one of the types of sea turtles that nest every year on Holden Beach. Perhaps you will see a nest with freshly laid eggs one morning when you are walking along the miles long strand at Holden Beach. The pier is about one and a half miles east of the house.

The house has plenty of electronics with a flat screen TV in each bedroom as well two others in the upstairs and downstairs living areas. There are two DVDs, cable TV, and WiFi.

Cleaning is included in the rental price. Sheets and towels are not included, though they are available for rental through Beach Fun Rental who will deliver them to the house ( 910 842 9600). The house is on pilings and is not wheelchair accessible. Although the house is listed as pet free, our family trains service dogs and the house may have dog dander. It would not be appropriate for families that have a member with dog sensitivity. The house rents Saturday-Saturday with check in time 4 PM and check out time of 10 AM. Early check in can be requested for 1PM for an additional $50.

For the 2017 season we are adding a heated 12ft X 25ft pool on the oceanfront side of the house. Enjoy bathing in the pool while gazing out on the beautiful beach and ocean. The pool will be perfect for swimming on those days when the surf is too chilly or rough as well as night swimming. The pool will also keep children entertained for hours. Those guests wishing to heat the pool will be required to pay an additional $200/wk to cover the cost of heating the pool. To enhance the space around the pool and the view of the beach, the first floor deck is also being enlarged and refurbished. The pool installation and deck enlargement will be completed by May 1.
