Our beautiful colonial home is the perfect place to enjoy a week or several months in Merida. We have thought of every convenience for our home, you won't be disappointed. Our kitchen is well equipped, we have free hi-speed internet, TV, a swimming pool, top quality king size beds and each room is beautifully decorated. This house was featured on House Hunters International in 2012.
Each bedroom on the ground level has a king sized bed and it's own bathroom with shower. Each bedroom has a walk out. One bedroom on the main floor walks out to an interior court yard, the other walks out to the pool. The Master bedroom/family suite occupies the entire 2nd floor. It consists of 2 bedrooms (1 with king bed and 1 with 2 twin beds), a bathroom, a dressing room and it's own private patio.
Our entrance leads into a sitting area/TV room and indoor eating area. Walk further you will enter our kitchen that has 2 walk outs, one to a court yard with BBQ and the other walks out to the pool and a large terrace with outdoor dinning options.
Our roof top terrace has a 360 degree view over Merida. Watch the sunset over Santiago church and watch it come up over the main square. Complete with a wet bar, dumb waiter, seating area, dining area, bathroom, sun deck and birds eye viewing deck.
Beautiful breezes and airflow thru this house, created by the architectural structure when you open the doors to the living spaces, keeps it cool and comfortable. Air conditioning is rarely needed, but available.
Each morning the parrots fly over and each evening they return. Sit on the roof top and see them everyday, sometimes in flocks of hundreds of birds.
Our location is perfect. you are walking distance to all that Merida offers. 1 block away from Santiago market where you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meat every day. We have local restaurants close by that will suit every budget.

Like so many house in Mexico, the street and the outside of this house belies the beauty inside that included several open air seating areas, three bedrooms with private ensuites, air conditioners and fans (perfect for our group of three couples); a well equipped kitchen; three dining areas; a small but refreshing pool; attractive water features and landscaping that included a huge cactus that housed a nesting pair of doves which we saw as a good omen. The top floor bar and seating area was magical for watching the sun set. This house hits the sweet spot between elegance and comfort. As one member of our group said 'I would recommend this place to anyone going to Merida'. The six of us are all very well travelled and have rented several houses in several countries. This one was certainly one of the best. The owner is wonderful to deal with and the onsite staff very helpful. My only bit of advise especially if you are driving as we were, is to get very specific directions since Merida has a complicated street numbering system and our GPS let us down.

Casa Chablis was a hidden gem. There was more than enough space for our group of 7. The courtyard, pool and terraces were spectacular. The property is beautifully decorated and quite comfortable. Wifi, AC and laundry provide modern convenience while the architecture, furnishings and appointments scream colonial charm. The property is located in the Santiago neighborhood, which is a 10 minute walk from the plaza mayor. The immediate surroundings are quaint and there are plenty of things to do in and around the Plaza de Santiago just around the corner. We will definitely stay here again!
