Our seven bedroom Camden Harbor home on Sherman's Cove offers visitors the opportunity to stay in an elegant Maine coast cottage-style home with wrap-around porches and views of the tide rising and falling on the cove, the sounds and sights of flocks of feeding seabirds all framed by the Camden Hills, which offer stunning sunsets.

As you enter the house through the front portico from a circular driveway and flower garden, the main hall opens up to a winding mahogany staircase to the second floor. At the main entrance to your left is a spacious living room with large sofas and arm chairs around a fireplace, a grand piano and book cases with French doors that open to Sherman's Cove with views of inner Camden Harbor in the distance. To your right at the main entrance, is a large kitchen and sitting with two additional sofas and arm chair. A marble-topped island separates the sitting area from the kitchen. The kitchen features a double wall oven, five-burner range, microwave, sink and refrigerator-freezer surrounded by marble counters. Connecting the kitchen and living room on the cove side is the dining room with a long table that can seat 8-10, with French doors that open to the spacious porch.

A secondary entrance from the driveway through a mudroom houses w washer/dryer and access to a back porch and outdoor shower.

Upstairs in the main house on one side of the staircase is the master bedroom, with queen bed, views over the cove, dressing room, and spacious bath with sink and vanity, shower and claw-footed tub. At the other end of the staircase are three smaller bedrooms, each with a built-in double ideal for couples or children. A second bath at this end of the staircase has a sink, vanity and shower/tub.

Back on the main floor, a breezeway off the living room connects to an attached barn with three bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom with a king sized bed has its own bath with shower, sink and vanity with French doors to a porch with views to the cove. Upstairs is a large living room with sofas and armchairs, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, as well as a kitchenette with stove and small refrigerator. One bedroom has a king sized bed and built-in desk space; the other a queen-sized bed with a large built-in desk space.

Outside a path leads down to a staircase down to the water's edge, where guests can swim or float on inner tubes as the tide rises over the flats. When you return from the shore, the outdoor shower and/or hot and cold hose make rinsing off easy. The wrap-around porches with the outdoor furniture are wonderful places to read or serve lunch, drinks and snacks during the long sun-lit evenings of a Maine summer.
