The Metropolitan Room, as it is known, is an elegantly furnished studio is up one flight of stairs in a 1881 brownstone townhouse. The four poster queen size bed is extremely comfortable and laden with pillows and a comforter. The south facing windows fitted with folding shutters and venetian blinds look out over West 82nd Street. The kitchen is small but efficient with a brand new LG stainless steel refrigerator. There is a professional quality hot plate that can cook anything. An additional hotplate is available upon request. The charming wallpapered bathroom is has a bathtub and features both a standard shower and a hand held shower.

There is a new flat screen television behind the shutters of the armoire. The big desk has plenty of room to set up a computer and work. There are two leather club chairs facing the fireplace (non-working). A commodious dresser and big closet will fit all your clothes. Hangers are provided, of course. The floor is carpeted in a wool berber and there is an arts and crafts wallpaper wainscotting around the room.

We are a married couple who live on the ground floor, one of us is an architect, the other a composer of classical music. We both work from home. We will greet you upon your arrival and are happy to guide you to features of the neighborhood. The building is extremely quiet and secure, as is the tree lined block in the heart of the Upper West Side. You are just steps from the greatest museums, shopping and entertainment in the world.
