Knockando is the former home of the visionary John Pringle who dreamed over fifty years ago of turning it in a spectacular property into a luxurious retreat he later named Round Hill.

The origin of the name "Knockando" is a Gaelic term which refers to the distillery in Scotland which is renowned as the home of the finest single malt scotch in the world.

The villa is a deluxe home located within the prestigious Round Hill Resort just outside of Montego Bay. The home offers spectacular views, beautiful interiors and is very family friendly as well as being handicap accessible.

The expansive living room at Knockando Villa is equipped with cable TV, DVD and internet connection. This living room and opens wide to the main section of the house which leads to a 1,300 sq-ft veranda.

The interiors feature softly and subtly colored marble, rich mahogany, high ceilings and exquisite antiques. The villa seemeless blend both the traditional Jamaica but completely updated with all contemporary amenities.

The living area is extremely expansive and has a parquet floor, cable TV, DVD and Internet connection.

All of the villa's bedrooms are air-conditioned. The Master Bedroom has a king sized bed, TV and a dressing room with a crib. The en-suite bathroom has a spacious walk in shower, sunken tub large enough for two. It adjoins the middle bedrooms.

The Middle Bedroom has two queen sized beds, TV and and en-suite bathroom. It's dressing room has an interior passage that leads to the master bedroom via a door that may be left open or locked for privacy.

The Blue Room has a king sized bed, TV and en-suite bath complete with a double vanity and wheelchair accessible shower with bench. An
interior hallway leads to a small room that is outfitted with two twin beds and is ideal for a child, nanny or another adult. The connecting door may be left open or closed.

The Treetops bedrooms is located on a private upper level and has a queen sized bed and a wraparound balcony with stunning views. The en-suite bathroom has a shower.

The Cottage is a separate building located across the lawn. It has a queen sized bed, TV, VCR/sound system, wet bar fridge and en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has a booster toilet complete with side rails and a wheelchair accessible shower. There, is, also, a Jacuzzi bathtub.

The Olivia's Treehouse is a charming playroom/bedroom suitable for children. It is located down one flight of stairs and underneath Treetops. Actually Tree Tops (upstairs) and Treehouse (downstairs) make an ideal suite for parents and children. It is outfitted with bunk beds and trundle beds. Additional amenities include TV/VCR, children's videos as well as books, toys and games. There is, also, a small sink and toilet.

In keeping with offering all of today's modern amenities, Internet access is available for laptop users in all bedrooms including Treetops, the outdoor verandah and pool deck. Additionally, there is a DVD, cable TV and a sound system.

Directly opposite is a wheelchair accessible bathroom and a ramp path to the pool and terrace located below.

Wonderful dining may be enjoyed al fresco on the long verandah with lovely views of the coastline and Montego Bay. Additionally, three other dining areas include the stunning indoor dining room with a mahogany table complete with Rosenthal and Minton china as well as sterling silver.

The home is handicap accessible as it has a ramp for wheelchairs as well as three handicap bathrooms. Additionally, there is an electric wheelchair and a Rascal electric transport cart which guests are welcome to use to reach the resort and beach.

The villa features an unique 20' x 40' private saltwater swimming pool. Unique to the pool is a mosaic Chinese dragon design.

Knockando is fully staffed with a butler, cook, housekeeper, laundress and gardeners. The cook is known for the delicious meals she serves guests.

The villa is very child friendly and has a full sized crib in one of the bedrooms as well as a stroller, high chair and baby gates that can be put up to block the entrances from the verandah to the pool.

The villa is located on the grounds of the exclusive Round Hill Resort and includes complementary membership to the exclusive Round Hill Resort. The resort has a lovely beach, two heated pools, jogging trails, Manager's weekly cocktail party. For additional fees the following are available: Children's Club, fitness room, tennis, beauty salon, spa, bars, restaurants, gift shops, water sports and beach parties.

The villa, includes, membership to the nearby Tryall Club as well. Included at Tryall are use of their beach, tennis, gym, pool, Kid's Club, non-motorized water sports, Internet room, Usain Bolt Games Room for children and adults, jogging trail, afternoon tea and Manager's Cocktail Party. For additional fees the following are available: golf, tennis lessons, Happy Hour, hair salon & spa, bars, restaurants, boutique, motorized water sports and beach parties Mon-Wed-Fri.
