Monteverde is situated on top of the highest hill of a vineyard of 130 acres, this villa is a pleasant house whose owner wanted to maintain the rustic and authentic structure, which dates back to 800’, when the house was used by farmers. Located in the heart of Val d’ Orcia, the villa and pool facing the west side, from where you can enjoy spectacular sunsets which transform the wonderful colours of the surrounding vineyards.

At the foot of the estate, the river Orcia bounds one hill with another on which you can find the charming village of Castelnuovo dell’Abate. In this area, lovers of the famous wine of Montalcino can choose a selection of wineries to visit.
Montalcino is situated on a 16km distance from the villa and Siena is reachable in an hour drive. You can combine the visits to wine cellars with a day to the thermal spa of Bagno Vignoni, or you can drive to the Tuscany coast, direction Punta Ala or Monte Argentario, in about an hour and a quarter drive.
A dirt road of two and a half kilometres leads to the farmhouse, which is surrounded by ‘spontaneous’ greenery. Even the plants that adorn the pool area seem to be part of natural vegetation. There is nothing artificial in the garden except for the swimming pool.

The interiors are furnished with simplicity and taste, using rich and valuable fabrics and curtains from Tuscany.

Val D’ Orcia is a nature preserve located in the southern most part of Tuscany with magnificent views 360 degrees around. Shimmering olive groves, stone paths dotted with cypress trees, endless vineyards and centuries -old chestnut trees surround the immediate vicinity, the nearby villages Colle Sant' Angelo and Montalcino can be seen from the property' s altitude.

A pergola and outdoor shower are situated in front of the swimming pool, while at the side of the villa, still overlooking the pool, you can find a pleasant pergola adorned with a grape plant and purple curtains , which gives a table for outdoor dining.

The large living room with open fireplace lies on the first floor of the house and leads onto 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom. The decoration of the house is full of taste; mostly using textiles from a Tuscan weaver located near Arezzo. In front of the kitchen door a vine-covered pergola with table and chairs for outdoor meals looks out over the wide and open valley.

The pool measures 5x15 meters and is equipped with deck chairs and sun beds. An outdoor shower, as well as a pergola for shade will make this area the centre of your outdoor life.
